It is always with a slightly heavy heart that we admit that summer is over, with no more festivals ahead, it is hard not to feel a little sad! However, looking back over what's been such an amazing summer, we are - again - so grateful that we can make our living in the way we do. Being part of what makes people's festivals special, adding to their memories of good times, making connections, being part of amazing productions, setting up our space - creating lots of art and then leaving no trace - are amazing, unforgettable experiences which we are lucky to have!

Each festival deserves it's own blog (watch this space!) however here is a little overview of our summer festivals this year. Our first outing into the fields was with our annual visit to Elderflower Fields in Sussex- a beautiful, small family festival with a lovely, chilled vibe. A great one to ease us back into festival land, and remember where all our festival and camping gear is!! With a dream team of our favourite painters, this is definitely a highlight on our painting calendar.

A few weeks later and we were off to our favourite place in the world to paint – festival top dog – Glastonbury. We have had the privilege of painting as volunteers in the Kidz Field here for many years and it really is a very special place. A tiny piece of our hearts is left there for sure and we miss it when they have a year off! We were blessed with gorgeous weather this year, the wellies didn’t get a look in! Happy days!

Next on the calendar was Camp Bestival, Naomi has been heading up the mega team of face painters here for 12 years and it is an annual get together of friends which again is very special. Long days of painting and long nights of dancing, mean lots of smiles and laughter which is what it’s all about.

Then it was straight off to Wilderness festival, which we hadn’t attended for a few years, so we were very excited to be back. This was the first outing for our brand new look stall, which was received very well and we are happy with our new parlour, we think it's here to stay!

Our final work outing into the fields was our beloved Green Man festival, another favourite due to it's beautiful location, it's loyal, returning crowd, and it's ever improving fantastic lineup! We just offer henna here and have many repeat customers who come and find us in the Healing area, year after year, which is so lovely!

The summer can't be all work and no play, so a little jolly to Shambala to end the season was the perfect end to another amazing summer for Poppy & Perle.

Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts to all our customers old and new who allowed us to adorn them so trustingly, to our friends and colleagues who make up our dream teams, to the amazing festival crews who work tirelessly to create these magical, temporary lands, and to all the incredible singers and musicians who have graced our ears and made us dance our socks off. Roll on Summer 2020, we already can't wait ❤
